The milestone was another fete to crown his club career so far.

Harambee Stars defender Brian Mandela is the Premier Soccer League title winner with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Masandawana became the South African top-flight champions without kicking the ball on Saturday.

SuperSport United, who were the only side with a mathematical chance of beating Sundowns to the title, were held to a draw by Chippa United on Saturday.

After the 1-1 draw, it means SuperSport can only manage 58 points for the season should they win all the remaining games. Sundowns are on 59 points and thus became champions-designate.

The result was big news for Mandela and his teammates, as it guaranteed them a sixth consecutive PSL title.

The title means that the Brazilians are the first team ever to win the trophy in April. They also set another precedent as they sealed the title race with seven matches remaining, as no team has ever managed that before.

In total, the Brazilians have now won 16 league titles overall, which means they have three more than Kaizer Chiefs.

After their Saturday CAF Champions League Group B match against Coton Sport, Mandela, and his teammates will return to PSL action on Tuesday with a match against Cape Town City.

They are on course to amass 77 points at the end of the season, and that would mean that they can smash their own 30-game record of 71 achieved in 2015/16.

Mandela has been a constant starter for Sundowns, as he has always been paired alongside Rushine de Reuck at the heart of the defense.

His presence has always played a vital role as the Pretoria-based side is on course to set another record for the fewest goals conceded in a season.

As of now, they have conceded nine goals from 23 games, and the record for fewest conceded goals in a season is held by the Kaizer Chiefs with 11 goals.
