Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has called up KCB's Francis Kahiro to the national team ahead of the return leg of the CHAN qualifiers against Sudan.

Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat has called up KCB's in-form forward Francis Kahiro to the national side ahead of 2025 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers return leg tie against South Sudan on Sunday.

Firat will be banking on new faces, among them Kahiro, having lost key players to injury ahead of the revenge mission.

Kenya who have already qualified for next year's showpiece, being joint hosts with Uganda and Tanzania lost their first fixture of the qualifiers against South Sudan last Sunday.

Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat in Juba stadium with Firat questioning why the side have to play the qualifiers despite already qualifying as hosts.

The Turkish tactician's sentiments aside, Stars will hope to get their revenge on Sunday with new faces in the squad.

Kahiro who has been on a hot-scoring streak with FKF Premier League leaders, KCB could have a say in the matter with his latest national team call-up.

The Bankers forward currently tops the goal scoring charts in the league with five goals, followed by Ally Salum of Kariobangi Sharks with four.

His most recent goal came in KCB's 3-2 win over Tusker FC over the weekend on Saturday where the forward scored a brace to sink the Brewers.

Kahiro's introduction into the squad offers Firat a different dynamic to approach the return leg and with goals on the offer, being on a such hot scoring streak.

Other new additions to the side include on-fire Tusker striker Ryan Ogam who received his call-up yesterday as Firat navigates injury issues within the camp.
