The experienced Kenyan goalkeeper has been captured on video engaging a man who is trying to manipulate a match.

Kenyan goalkeeper Patrick Matasi has been dragged into allegations of match fixing following an incriminating video posted online.

Matasi has faced multiple allegations of match manipulation after conceding many goals that seem avoidable while he also makes some schoolboy mistakes when playing for both Harambee Stars and his clubs.

However, there was never proof of any suspicious activities but a video that has since gone viral shows him in a conversation with a man trying to convince him to fix a match.

Seated in a car, the man issues instructions to Matasi, while making promises to him as the experienced custodian looks to be buying into what is being sold.

“I repeat again before the boss, this is the first deal,” the man says as Matasi nods his head.

“You know how we have done this, I have never let you down, you have never let me down,” the man adds, seeming to suggest that they have done this kind of business before.

“With you, zero failure right?” the man asks to which the goalkeeper responds: “Yes.”

“Whatever will be given to me, straight I forward to you. Immediately I forward to you, I will give you a phone call and boss will confirm you have received then deal is on,” says the man.

The man then goes specifically to what he wants from the player.

“That first half, bro what we want must come,” he says, to which the player seems to agree with him.

It is not known when and where the clip was recorded or the match at the centre of the scheme but it leaves Matasi in a difficult position.

The goalkeeper recently left Kenya Police to join Kakamega Homeboyz with his performances for the law enforcers witnessing some howlers.

Matasi also conceded two soft goals during Kenya’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon last October when Harambee Stars lost 4-1 to dash their hopes.

Since that error-filled performance in Yaounde, the ex-Tusker, AFC Leopards and Posta Rangers goalkeeper lost his place in the national team.
