The Kenya international, who shone for both Sindiga Big Stars and Ihefu last season, is now on the verge of a move to Yanga and could be unveiled on Wednesday according to reports in Tanzania.
Kenyan international Duke Abuya is on the cusp of a high-profile transfer to Tanzanian champions Yanga, according to media reports in Tanzania.
Currently playing for Ihefu FC, Abuya has been instrumental for the club since his move from Sindiga Big Stars in January.
The Tanzanian champions have now set their sights on Abuya, who emerged as one of the standout midfielders in the Tanzanian league last season.
Known for their aggressive transfer strategies, Yanga sees the former Mathare United, Kariobangi Sharks, Nkana, and Kenya Police FC star as a crucial addition to their squad.
They aim to not only defend their league title but also make a deeper run in the CAF Champions League next season, following their quarterfinal appearance last year.
According to journalist Hansrafael, Abuya could well be unveiled as a new Yanga player by Wednesday if the final terms over the deal are agreed among all parties involved.

Firat calls out tactical misstep in FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers stalemate against Burundi
Engin Firat reflects on tactical choices after Harambee Stars draw with Burundi in the World Cup qualifiers.
Abuya is widely regarded as one of Kenya’s top attacking midfielders. His prowess was on display last month when he scored for the Harambee Stars in their World Cup qualification match against Burundi, held in Malawi.
He also did well against Ivory Coast, and is known for his off-the-ball movement, ball carrying capacity and speed which helps in counter attacking situations.
Yanga has already made significant moves in the transfer market, securing Clatous Chama from Simba in what is considered one of the most impressive coups in Tanzanian football.
They have also acquired Zimbabwean striker Prince Dube from Azam after a prolonged negotiation.
If Abuya completes the move, he will join the ranks of other notable Kenyan players at Yanga, such as Farouk Shikalo, who signed with the club after the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
