The former Nairobi City Stars back Timothy Ouma is set to play in Elfsborg's pivotal Allsvenskan match against Mjallby.

Harambee Stars winger Timothy Ouma is poised to make a significant impact as his team IF Elfsborg prepares to face Mjallby AIF in a pivotal Allsvenskan match this Sunday at Boras Arena.

Ouma, who recently scored in Elfsborg's 5-2 Europa League victory over Pafos, is a key player in his team’s quest for European qualification.

The match is of considerable importance in the race for European spots with Mjallby currently holding the final qualifying position.

Elfsborg just two places and seven points behind are aiming to close the gap.

Since the start of July, Elfsborg has secured four consecutive wins across all competitions with a notable 5-3 league triumph over Hacken highlighting their offensive prowess.

Elfsborg's recent success has been buoyed by their form at Boras Arena, where they have become a formidable force.

They have won their last five league matches at home, contributing significantly to their current fifth-place standing in the league.

With 22 points from 15 matches, they are tied with Hammarby and Gais, both of whom have played fewer games.

Oscar Hiljemark's squad has thrived in front of their home crowd, netting a total of 16 goals in their last four matches while conceding just five.

On the other side, Mjallby, under Anders Torstensson, is also in fine form, having won four consecutive league matches.

This includes a significant 2-1 victory over league leaders Malmo, underlining their credentials as serious contenders for European football.

Currently in third place with 29 points, they are just two points behind second-placed Djurgardens IF and six behind Malmo, though Djurgardens have a game in hand.

Despite their strong league position, Mjallby's away form has been less convincing, with just nine of their 29 points coming on the road.

This discrepancy makes Sunday's game a challenging fixture, particularly against an Elfsborg side that has dominated recent meetings at Boras Arena.

Elfsborg heads into the match without any major injury concerns, providing Hiljemark a full squad to select from.

Key players include Michael Baidoo, the team's top scorer who shone in their last Europa League outing, and Arber Zeneli, who has contributed to four goals in the last two matches.

Conversely, Mjallby will be without Silas Nwankwo and Adam Petersson, both sidelined due to injuries.

However, they will be buoyed by the form of Jacob Bergstroem, their leading league scorer, who is expected to play a crucial role in their attack once again.

A victory for Elfsborg would not only enhance their European aspirations but also assert their dominance at home.
