Kibet is grateful for three things including the Spain-based scouts reportedly from Real Madrid who have been tracking him at the ongoing CECAFA u18 tournament.
Junior Stars’ wunderkid Aldrine Kibet has revealed his gratitude at reaching the finals of the ongoing CECAFA u18 Championships.
Stars overcame rivals Tanzania on penalties after both sides had played each other over a grueling 120 minutes with no one really managing to find the back of the net.
However, the Kenyans managed to overcome Tanzania 4-3 on penalties after keeper Ibrahim Wanzala managed to save two penalties, sending the crowd that attended the game in Mamboleo Stadium into raptures.
Kibet, who has scored three goals all tournament, took to X, formerly Twitter to describe his honest feelings after the game, including thanking the Spain-based scouts, who attended the game.
“Grateful for reaching the finals,” Kibet wrote on his page.
“Excited with the presence of coaches, agents from Spain and DPF Group. Nosotros estamos en esto juntos -We are in this together!”
Kibet also thanked the fans for their unwavering support towards the team for the duration of the tournament so far.
“Thanks alot fans. Asanteni sana!”
Kibet has been based in Spain’s Nastic Soccer Acadamey ever since being named the Most Valuable Player for his performances at the 2023 National Secondary School Games held in Kakamega back in August playing for St. Anthony’s Boys, Kitale.
