Havertz goal secures crucial win for Arsenal
The Gunners celebrated the fifth anniversary of Mikel Arteta's first Arsenal match with a hard-fought win after Havertz' goal in the 23rd minute turned out to be the decider despite the home side's first half dominance.
Arsenal restricted Ipswich to only 83 passes in the entire first period, with the visitors unable to muster a single shot to trouble David Raya's goal, but were only able to score the solitary goal.
Ipswich were braver in the second half, and managed to put Arsenal under pressure, but it was the Gunners who came closest to scoring again as Gabriel Magalhaes saw his point-blank header go just wide of goal.
In the end, Arsenal were only able to manage the one goal, but it was enough for all three points as the Gunners leapfrogged Nottingham Forest and Chelsea to move into second place on the Premier League table.
