Galatasaray assistant coach Ismael Garcia Gomez has provided insight into the events leading up to Victor Osimhen's move to Turkey.
Osimhen completed his move to Galatasaray during the summer transfer window after informing Napoli he wants the leave the club.
The Super Eagles star was the subject of a transfer saga during the summer, with PSG, Chelsea and a Saudi Arabian side all looking to sign him.
He came close to not getting a transfer move but was rescued by Galatasaray, who signed him for a season-long loan deal.

Gomez opens up on Osimhen’s deal
Before joining Galatasaray, Gomez says Osimhen turned down a transfer to Saudi Arabia after a move to Chelsea fell through.
Speaking to Marca via Turkish outlet Fotomac, Gomez said, "Osimhen did not want to go to Saudi Arabia and his transfer to Chelsea did not happen either. If he had stayed in Napoli, he would have trained alone and would not have been able to play.
"It may have seemed like we had no options, but suddenly we saw that this transfer was very possible.
"They told us about this possibility before the Adana Demirspor match and when we returned to the airport, just before take-off, our technical director Okan Buruk had a video call with Osimhen. From that moment on, everything was concluded very quickly.
"We were one of the few teams that offered him the option to compete for titles and play in Europe. Victor also values the fact that football in Istanbul is experienced 100% like in Naples."
The 25-year-old Nigerian striker has scored eight goals and provided four assists in nine games across all competitions, proving that his move to Galatasaray was a brilliant move.
The forward also carried his impressive form to the national team, scoring against the Republic of Benin last week and leading the Super Eagles to the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
