England boss Lee Carsely provided injury update on Bukayo Saka.

England national team head coach Lee Carsley has provided an important update on Bukayo Saka's injury status as Arsenal fans wait hopefully in bated breath.

Saka’s injury

The 22-year-old has been one of the most important stars of the Three Lions, cementing his ownership of the right-wing amid intense competition.

He was named from the start in the defeat to Greece, and after a slugfest first-half in which he struggled to make an impact, even receiving a yellow card, he was substituted in the early minutes of the second 45, but it was not for tactical reasons.

Saka pulled something minutes after Vangelis Pavlidis gave Greece the opener and had to be substituted; Chelsea’s Noni Madueke replaced him.

England laboured for an equaliser after Saka was subbed off and got it in the 87th minute through Jude Bellingham. However, Greece had the last laugh, and Pavlidis struck in the 94th minute to hand the Galanolefki a shock victory.

Carsley provides update

Speaking in a press conference today, the former England U-21 boss was asked about the condition of the Arsenal ace, and he told reporters that the Hale End graduate was still being assessed.

“He’s being assessed,” he said. "Obviously, in the build-up to the first goal, you could see he felt something in his leg.”
