Paris Saint-Germain fullback Achraf Hakimi's mother, Saida Mouh, has revealed what her son told her prior to Ademola Lookman winning the African Men's Player of the Year award.
Last Monday, Lookman was named the CAF African Player of the Year following an impressive season with Atalanta and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Super Eagles star defeated Hakimi, Serhou Guirassy, Ronwen Williams and Simon Adingra to the award, which was held in Marrakech, Morocco
However, the news of Lookman winning the CAF POTY award did not go well with the Moroccan, who heard a rumour that he would win the award before the ceremony.

‘CAF made me believe that I won’ - Frustrated Hakimi laments after losing CAF POTY to Lookman
Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi has spoken out following his defeat by Ademola Lookman for the African Player of the Year award.
What Hakimi’s mum said
Mouh, who was upset that Hakimi had not received the coveted honour, disclosed that she had decided to go to the award ceremony because her son had informed her that he had won.
She told Al-Araby via Fennec Football, "My son asked me to come urgently to Marrakech to be present at the CAF Awards ceremony.
"He spoke with such certainty that he was the winner. Maybe he had been informed before the event, but in the end, the trophy went to Ademola Lookman."
Hakimi has had a strong season with PSG, winning both the Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France last season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 40 games across all competitions.
This season, the 26-year-old has also performed admirably for the French team, recording three goals and seven assists in 20 games.
