Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi beats Jay Jay Okocha’s Premier League record
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has surpassed Nigerian legend Jay Jay Okocha’s Premier League record.
Super Eagles legend Jay Jay Okocha is the latest to address the debate, as in a conversation with Pulse, he picked his GOAT and gave the reason for his selection.
What Okocha said
The former Bolton man sat with Pulse for their Fun Facts show, where celebrities are asked about the more interesting bits of their personalities.
JayJay was asked non-football-related questions like a Nigerian dish he deems overrated and others based on the sport, such as selecting a five-aside with players he shared a dressing room with.
He also asked who the GOAT was between Messi and Ronaldo, and while he first gave a diplomatic answer, saying both players were greats, he went on to pick the Argentine as his preferred of the two players.
Pressed further to give a reason for his pick, the former PSG midfielder explained that Messi was more natural; hence, he was his personal GOAT.
“They are both G.O.A.Ts, by the way. But my personal G.O.A.T is Messi,” Okocha told Pulse. “Because he looks more natural to me,” he finished.
Meanwhile, for many, the 37-year-old cemented his place as the greatest of his generation after winning the World Cup in Qatar 2022. He was expected to retire from international football after the tournament; however, according to his former national teammate Roman Riquelme, Messi will participate in the 2026 World Cup.
