Kobbie Mainoo has been challenged by Ruben Amorim to prove he is deserving of being among Manchester United's high earners.
The Manchester United youngster broke into the first team under Erik Ten Hag at a very young age following an injury-hit squad last season.
Since his breakout season, he has been influential for the Red Devils and has attracted interest from top clubs.
With his contract set to expire in 2027, the England international is looking to sign a new deal but wants a huge pay rise in his wages.

Amorim advises Mainoo
Amorim has asked that Mainoo prove he wants a huge pay rise in his contract and improve his game.
According to the Sun, he said, “But I think you guys feel like he is the finished product — he is not. He is really good but can be so much better. He has so much potential to grow up even more.”
Amorim replied when asked directly if he wanted Mainoo to stay, “Yeah, my players are always my favourites so I want to keep my players.
“It is a special moment in this club, it is a hard moment but I am really happy Kobbie is improving.”
Mainoo wants a rise to almost £200,000 per week because he currently makes £20,000 per week, making him one of the lowest-paid players in the team.
However, the United manager maintains that Mainoo still requires much work and stated, “Kobbie has been improving a lot over the last few matches.”
