He is not proud — Premier League coach explains why Guardiola is elite

Manchester City's Pep Guardiola received high praise from rival manager.

Pep Guardiola is the consensus best active manager, as he not only receives plaudits from fans but also players and his fellow coaches.

After winning four consecutive Premier League titles, Pep’s team are on course for a fifth, and they have started in the best way possible, winning all their league games so far this season, the latest coming against Brentford.

The Cityzen’s beat the Bees 2-1, and after falling to defeat despite his side’s valiant effort, Brentford's manager, Thomas Frank, sang the praises of his opposite number and explained what makes him elite.

What Frank said

"I respect Pep Guardiola very much and a lot of the reasons I do is because he made tactical changes at halftime, and then he is not too proud to put the ball down in the corner because they need to win. We must have done something right today."

He then went on to praise Haaland, who scored a brace against his team off the back of consecutive hat-tricks.

"Haaland is a fantastic striker; he got a little bit of help today with a deflection and a mistake we don't usually do."

Meanwhile, Haaland’s double against Brentford took his season’s tally to nine goals in only four games—a Premier League record, eclipsing Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, who scored four in as many games.
