Italian sports commentator Riccardo Trevisani has emphasized that Samuel Chukwueze is not to be written off but must elevate his game to validate the hefty transfer fee AC Milan forked out for his services last summer.
Chukwueze, the former Villarreal standout, arrived at the Rossoneri for a reported 28 million euros, bonuses included, sparking debate over the price tag's validity in the typically conservative Serie A market.
However, he has failed to live up to the expectations as he struggles to make a mark at his new club AC Milan.

Chukwueze struggles and glimmers of promise
In his initial six months with AC Milan, Chukwueze grappled to find his footing, igniting speculations of a potential summer exit to mitigate the club's investment risk.
Despite his potential, the 24-year-old found it challenging to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup, with manager Stefano Pioli favouring United States sensation Christian Pulisic on the right flank.
However, recent weeks have seen glimpses of Chukwueze's talent, prompting calls for his inclusion in the starting XI. His noteworthy performances since mid-March have begun to sway the opinions of AC Milan faithful.
Offering his insights ahead of the Europa League clash between AS Roma and AC Milan, Trevisani, speaking to Milan News, voiced his stance on Chukwueze's situation, "No one here has ever said that he is poor, I said that the money they put for him I would have put for Okafor because he is a very strong player.
"Chukwueze is a good player, but currently he is not worth that money, this I was saying. In the overall picture he played 1300 minutes and scored 3 goals: do you think it's the right season to say that he's worth all that money?
"No, he's not a player who shoots, who has dribbling, who also has shooting. and he has to do a lot more than that to be worth the amount he was paid."
Despite featuring in twenty-nine matches for AC Milan, Chukwueze has contributed three goals and two assists, indicating room for improvement in his output.
