He nearly japa to Al-Nassr - Bundesliga hails Boniface after goalscoring return from injury layoff

Victor Boniface went from almost joining Al Nassr in January to scoring for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface's January took a dramatic turn as he went from almost moving to Al-Nassr to scoring crucial goals for Bayer Leverkusen in January. 

The Bundesliga has reacted to the Super Eagles striker's return from injury, which has seen him score in back-to-back matches across competitions for the double champions.

After being sidelined since December with a thigh injury, the 24-year-old made his comeback against Hoffenheim, scoring in a 3-1 victory. 

He followed this up by playing a decisive role in their 3-2 win against FC Koln in the DFB Pokal quarterfinal. 

Boniface scored the winner against Koln.

In the match against Hoffenheim, Boniface scored his seventh Bundesliga goal of the season. Overall, before his injury, Boniface had eight goals and one assist in 15 matches across competitions. 

Since joining Leverkusen in 2023, he has 30 goals and 10 assists in 50 competitive appearances, averaging a goal every 107 minutes.

Boniface returns with a bang.

The Bundesliga's Facebook account celebrated Boniface's return with a Pidgin English post,

Victor Boniface is back from his injury.

Boniface and his Leverkusen teammates are back in the Bundesliga on Saturday when they travel to face Wolfsburg.
