Super Eagles star Victor Boniface has hailed his Nigerian teammate Victor Osimhen and has revealed where he wanted to go during the summer transfer window.

Osimhen’s transfer to a top team in Europe failed to materialise after several months of speculations about his future.

The forward was linked with a move to PSG earlier in the summer before the likes of Chelsea and Al Ahli came into the mix but could not get a deal done for the Napoli star.

However, he completed a loan move to Turkish side Galatasaray a few days after the transfer window was shut.

Boniface speaks about Osimhen

Boniface has heaped praise on the 2023 African Best Player of the Year for having a very strong mentality.

Speaking on Sporty TV, as reported by @𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗷𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗯𝗼𝘆 on X, Boniface said, "Victor Osimhen's mentality is really strong... I know he really wants to come to the Premier League."

The Bayer Leverkusen star also mentioned that Osimhen wanted to go to the English Premier League during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea were the favourite to sign the Super Eagles star but failed to agree on his weekly wages, leading to a breakdown in negotiation.

Meanwhile, Boniface has picked up from where he left last season with Bayer Leverkusen, following their remarkable unbeaten record.

The striker has scored three goals and provided one assist in his first four games of the new season. He scored a late winner after coming in as a substitute against Wolfsburg.

He will be hoping to keep hitting the back of the net and stay away from injury as the season runs its course.
