Arsenal suffer transfer blow as Victor Osimhen alternative deemed too expensive
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal will reportedly not be signing their major target in the January window due to the hefty asking price.
Manchester United interest in Osimhen
Two players in the Red Devils front line, Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee, have been linked with exits this January transfer window; hence, Manchester United are said to be in the market for reinforcements.
According to reports from Turkey, the Manchester-based club approached Napoli, Osimhen's parent club, to sign him permanently, and the Partenopei were alleged to have given a positive response to the offer.
However, as Pulse Sports reported, the 26-year-old has no intentions of prematurely ending his season-long loan with the Cim-Bom and was alleged to have told Giovanni's Manna, Napoli's sporting director, to return in May if the offer still exists.
What Yobo said
In a conversation with Africafoot, Yobo, who played in the Premier League with Everton, urged Osimhen to accept the deal, stating that it was a no-brainer.
“For me, it’s a no-brainer,” Yobo told the outlet. “Victor and Manchester United are a perfect fit, and there’s no doubt he would thrive if they signed him.
“Even though they’re struggling in the transition, Manchester United are still among the top three clubs in the world, and that’s not going to change anytime soon.
“If you ask me, I’ll be honest with you: Victor [Osimhen] should take the offer if it comes. Their project is exciting with a new coach in [Ruben] Amorim, who is one of the best of his generation.
“If Amorim wants to trust Victor to be one of the leaders of this project in transition, yes, I think he shouldn’t think twice; he should take it.”
