What Scholes

The former Manchester United midfielder who is now a pundit is a co-host on the Overlap podcast, along with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

In a discussion about Manchester United’s centre-back options, the injured Lisandro’s name came up, and Scholes’s assessment of the Argentine was unflattering.

The 27-year-old has been one of the Red Devils' better players this season, before an unfortunate injury against Crystal Palace ruled him out of the season.

In Scholes’s view, however, Martinez’s presence does not make much difference towards Manchester United achieving their goals, as he questions the former Ajax defender's qualities.

“Even when he [Martínez] is fit, he’s not good enough to win the Premier League with,” Scholes said, per Footboom

Lisandro's retort

Argentine publication TYC Sport shared those comments on their page, and it caught the attention of Martinez, who left a now-deleted angry comment.

“This jinx guy is really hurting... You put him in Argentina, and he wouldn’t survive,” Martinez said, per Ole

The Red Devils are concerned the diminutive Argentine injured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which effectively rules him out for the rest of the season
