England's interim boss Lee Carsley has named his first Three Lions squad with Nigeria and Super Eagles-eligible Noni Madueke included.

Days after he netted his first-ever hat-trick as Chelsea defeated Wolves 6-2 in the Premier League, Noni Madueke looks set to break the hearts of Nigerians after getting his first England call-up.

Interim England manager, Lee Carsley unveiled his first-ever squad since taking over from Gareth Southgate who resigned after back-to-back Euro defeats.

The squad was released on Thursday afternoon with Madueke rewarded for his brilliant form for Chelsea recently.

Madueke, who is eligible for Nigeria but has featured at youth level for England looks set to choose the Three Lions over Nigeria’s Super Eagles following his first senior call.

Meanwhile, the Manchester-based duo of Harry Maguire and Jack Grealish are also notable names included by the England boss.

Both players were a part of the Three Lions squad preliminary squad for the Euro 2024 in Germany but were dropped as England reached another final before falling to a defeat against Spain.

Carsley will oversee the Nations League fixtures as England face Republic of Ireland and Finland in the September window.

Chelsea’s Madueke is the latest player born in Europe who is set to dump Nigeria with the talented winger following in the footsteps of Michael Olise.
