Who are the Premier League's long-range kings? Pulse Sports reveal the most lethal marksmen from outside the 18-yard box.

Recently revealed data highlighted that goals scored from distance in the Premier League have dwindled in recent years.

Those figures were reported by Opta, highlighting the upshot of contemporary football managers’ desire to see their teams mechanically orchestrate moves to improve their chances of finding the back of the net.

With teams increasingly disinclined to take low-percentage shots from long range, the English top flight has witnessed fewer shots and goals from far out.

This is evidenced by the data revealing that just over 8.0 shots per match taken from outside the 18-yard area rank as the fewest on record since 2003-04, while this season has also witnessed the lowest percentage of efforts from far out.

In this article, Pulse Sports take you through the players who have scored the most long-range crackers in Premier League history.

Harry Kane

Games: 320

Goals (outside box): 25

Harry Kane, one of two active players on this list, departed the Premier League in 2023, leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich.

The former Spurs forward netted 213 Premier League goals for the North London club, second in the competition’s history, with 25 coming from distance.

With a first career title imminent with the Bavarian giants in the Bundesliga, Kane may one day return to England's top flight and add to his 25 goals from outside the 18-yard area.

Matt Le Tissier

Games: 270

Goals (outside box): 28

Matt Le Tissier was effectively a one-club man, having spent his best years at Southampton, making 443 top-flight appearances and scoring 161 times.

While top-flight football did not begin in 1992-93, which marked the advent of the Premier League, Le Tissier notched 100 goals in 270 appearances after the 1991-92 season.

Of those century of goals scored by the Englishman, 28 were netted from distance.

Wayne Rooney

Games: 491

Goals (outside box): 29

Wayne Rooney scored 208 Premier League goals in 491 appearances for Everton and Manchester United (25, 183), ranking him third-highest of all-time.

The former Red Devils star scored one more long-distance goal than Le Tissier.

Kevin De Bruyne

Games: 281

Goals (outside box): 29

Kevin De Bruyne is the only active Premier League player on this list; however, that changes soon as the Manchester City legend will depart the Cityzens at the culmination of the 2024-25 season.

The Belgian’s 281 appearances (as of April 2025) have produced 70 goals, all as a Man City player, with 29 scored from outside the player, jointly with Rooney.

The five-time Premier League champion has seven matches to move ahead of the United legend.

Thierry Henry

Games: 258

Goals (outside box): 29

The last of three players to score 29 from long range, Thierry Henry’s tally came from 258 matches.

Henry found the net 175 times in the Premier League, a tally that would have been higher had the Frenchman stayed longer in English football.

Steven Gerrard's penchant for scoring cracking efforts during his playing career was exceptional, and the former midfielder played 504 times for Liverpool, finding the back of the net 92 times.

Of those 92 goals, Gerrard netted 33 from distance, placing the ex-Reds star fourth.

Alan Shearer

Games: 441

Goals (outside box): 33

While Kane might still eclipse his retired compatriot if he returns to the Premier League, no player has managed to score more times than Alan Shearer's 260.

The 1994-95 Premier League champion's longevity made him feature in the competition for 14 seasons and 19 campaigns in the English top flight (remember, football did not start in 1992-93).

Of Shearer's 260 Premier League goals, 33 of the three-time Golden Boot winner's strikes were from far out.

David Beckham

Games: 265

Goals (outside box): 34

A six-time Premier League champion, David Beckham scored 62 times in 265 appearances.

Beckham scored 33 times from distance in his nine seasons at Manchester United before departing for Real Madrid in 2003.

Frank Lampard

Games: 609

Goals (outside box): 41

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard significantly outranks everyone on this list, with 41 long-distance goals scored in 609 matches for West Ham United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Chelsea's all-time goalscorer, who won three titles representing the West London club, netted seven more strikes than Beckham, albeit from 344 more appearances.

With one of the two active players on this list currently representing Bayern and the other departing this summer, Lampard is expected to retain his place atop this ranking for years to come.
