Herve Renard has emerged as Nigeria's main target to replace Finidi George as Super Eagles coach but his financial demands are proving a bottleneck.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has hit a major roadblock in their pursuit of Herve Renard as the new Super Eagles coach, with the Frenchman's financial demands proving to be a significant hurdle.

Renard, the former manager of several national teams including Saudi Arabia and the Ivory Coast, has emerged as the top target to replace Finidi George, who resigned after a short spell in charge of the Super Eagles.

However, according to a report by the reliable photojournalist and administrator, OgaNla Media, Renard is asking for a staggering $125,000 per month as his salary, a figure that far exceeds the NFF's current budget.

This significant financial gap has proved to be a major stumbling block for the NFF, who are now reportedly exploring alternative options for the coveted coaching role.

It's understood that following Renard's lofty demands, the NFF has swiftly shifted its attention to Mali's Eric Chelle, who is believed to be more aligned with the federation's financial capabilities.

The search for a new Super Eagles coach has become a delicate balancing act for the NFF, as they aim to secure the services of a highly-experienced and proven tactician while also navigating the challenging financial realities of Nigerian football.

As the negotiations continue, the Super Eagles fans await the outcome, hoping the NFF can find a suitable replacement for Finidi George that aligns with the team's aspirations and the federation's budgetary constraints.
