Omondi has been limited to few minutes this season owing to cutthroat competition.
Budding midfielder Stewart Omondi is craving for more playing time to prove himself at Tusker.
The midfielder signed for Tusker in October 2021 but has rarely tasted first-team action due to a thriving trio of Rodgers Ouma, John Njuguna and Eric Mmata that has made the Brewers' midfield their mainstay.
However, Omondi got a rare opportunity on Saturday in the FKF Cup, where he put up a splendid performance that was capped by a hat-trick against Berlin FC.
“First of all, I want to thank the technical bench for giving me a starting role against Berlin. Truly I have not got many playing opportunities, but I hope I will get more playing time moving forward.
Personally I have been praying and working hard and I now I have scored a hat-trick. I am grateful because it has been long since I scored. I have hopes that moving forward I will continue with the form that I showed today and reach greater heights,” he said.
Omondi is yet to make any start for Tusker in the 2022/2023 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.
He joined the Brewers from Vihiga United, where he had caught the eye of Ulinzi Stars, Kakamega Homeboyz and KCB, who were salivating for his signature.
Tusker are currently fourth on the log with 31 points garnered from 16 matches played this season.
The Brewers will resume their league title defense on Wednesday when they play Bandari FC at Kasarani Annex.
