Its the first time in history that Uganda will play the final of the African Games after failing to negotiate past the semifinals in 1999 in South Africa.

Uganda's U20 team put up a show of character and guile to defeat Congo Brazzaville in the semifinals of the African Games at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra.

Morley Byekwaso's charges were forced to rally from two goals down to beat their opponents 4-2, and sail into the final.

There was more misery after the goal as Uganda's goalkeeper Shamulan Kamya got injured and was rushed in an ambulance for quick medical intervention.

At the stroke of halftime, Congo added a second through Mignon Koto to condemn the Hippos to further agony.

Byekwaso and his team returned in the second half animated and pulled one back at the hour-mark through SC Villa youngster Abbas Kyeyune

URA FC forward Bruno Bunyaga then added the team's leveler in the 70th minute before he completed his brace four minutes later.

In the 81st, substitute and Villa's Hakim Mutebi made it four for Uganda, to complete a stunning comeback victory.

Uganda have now four in four at the ongoing tournament, having initially beaten Nigeria, Senegal and South Sudan.

In the final, they will play one of Senegal or hosts Ghana, who tussle it out later this Tuesday.
