The London club’s consideration of a move for the out-of-favour Frenchman could have far-reaching implications, not just for PSG but also for Galatasaray and Manchester United.
Chelsea eye Kolo Muani redemption
With less than 500 minutes played this season, Kolo Muani’s struggles at PSG have made him a prime candidate for a winter transfer.
Despite being a regular in France's national team under Didier Deschamps, his playing time at the club level has dwindled under Luis Enrique.
The €95 million signing has only managed 11 goals and 7 assists in 54 appearances since joining PSG, and is reportedly on his way out of the club.
According to reports from French publication Foot Mercato, Chelsea have thrown their hats into the race for Kolo Muani’s signature, which already has other big names, including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham, and Galatasaray.
Osimhen’s future hangs in the balance
Galatasaray reportedly view Kolo Muani as a possible loan signing to replace the injured Mauro Icardi, who is sidelined with a season-ending knee injury.
Kolo Muani would be seen as the perfect fit to maintain their two-striker system alongside Osimhen while providing adequate cover should the Nigerian star choose to end his loan deal in January for a better offer.
Galatasaray’s plans for Kolo Muani and Osimhen now face potential problems, not just from Manchester United’s growing interest in the Nigerian striker, but also Chelsea’s admiration of the French star.
Currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, Osimhen has delivered standout performances, scoring 12 goals in 15 matches, reigniting his status as one of Europe’s top strikers.
