SUPL Etrude fired up to face former employer SC Villa, targeting maximum points
Maroons FC midfielder Abel Etrude is equally fired up, having previously featured for the record league champions for three seasons; the midfield anchorman says he can not wait to face his former side, especially at this crucial point in the season.
Tamale was again called into action five minutes later, with Ivan Bogere at close range, but the former made a double save to deny the forward twice.
At the opposite end, meanwhile, Brian Kayanja could have scored a contender for goal of the season had his overhead kick attempt in the 29th minute gone in, but he missed the ball.
Darius Ojok’s fantastic run on the right produced a superb cross which Solomon Walusimbi met and hit but was poorly rebounded, only for Ronald Orombi to fire it back into the net and send the capacity home crowd into celebration in the 32nd minute.
The visitors tried to come back in the second half to get back into the game, but Maroons FC held on tight to pick up their ninth win of the season.
The win takes the Luzira-based side to fifth position on 36 points, one ahead of URA FC, who move below Maroons FC.
