Uganda Cranes defender Gift Fred completed a big-money move to Tanzanian powerhouse Young Africans SC on Tuesday.
He signed a three-year employment contract with the CAF Confederation Cup finalists, that will run till 2026.
At the time of his move, Gift had been a free agent after running out his contract with Uganda Premier League record holders SC Villa.
Given the situation, it meant that in signing for Yanga, the versatile defender was bound for a lucrative sign-on sum.
To put pen to paper, the former Booma player pocketed a huge $30,000 which is an equivalent of about UGX. 110 million.
Gift Fred will then earn a monthly salary of $3000 (about UGX. 11 million), according to trust sources close to the player.
