The Kenyan team has been in Malawi since Sunday, June 2, 2024, arriving at 8:30 AM local time and training daily. The Burundi national team is expected to arrive in Lilongwe on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite the challenge of not playing at home, Firat finds solace in the team's familiarity with the venue. The Harambee Stars played and won a four-nation tournament in Lilongwe during the March international break.
"The good news is that we recently played here a few months ago and are familiar with the surface. That might work to our advantage," Firat added.
