HRA Youth Cup: Ghetto Tigers set to defend title

The third edition of the HRA Youth Cup kicked off on Saturday at Ilupeju Secondary School.

Ghetto Tigers Ladies defeated Young Achievers 2-1 to win the HRA Youth Cup's opening match at Ilupeju Secondary School (Ilusec).

Aisha Bolarinwa doubled the HRA Girls' advantage in the second half to give the team a comfortable lead in the game after Idera Sodiq gave the Ghetto Tigers Ladies the lead with a terrific finish in the first half.

The third edition of the HRA Youth Cup kicked off on Saturday at Ilupeju Secondary School.

Young Achievers scored a goal to tie the score, but it wasn't enough to earn them a point.

The reigning champion Ghetto Tigers beat Tuto Atlanta 2-0 in the second game of the day to the delight of their supporters.

The game was brilliantly began by the Ghetto Tigers, and it took much effort on the part of Tuto Atlanta to strike the goalpost inexcusably, sparking an exciting contest.

Yakub Shamsu's header on a looping cross from the HRA Boys' subsequent counterattack gave the Ghetto Tigers the lead.

With the Ghetto Tigers' second goal toward the end of the game, Dare Owoseni effectively pushed Tuto Atlanta out of the match.

The HRA Youth Cup LOC secretary and CEO of Ghetto Tigers, Azeez Mustapha, told the participating teams to enjoy themselves and vowed to bring the scouted great players into the spotlight on a global scale.

Ghetto Tigers captain, Mubarak Adisa was ecstatic about his team's victory and boasted that they would defend their crown.

Given that powerful teams have been invited to compete and add glitz to the event, the HRA Youth Cup has become well-known throughout Lagos State.
