The Blues scored two late goals that gave them their first win after losing six previous games.

Chelsea finally registered a win under Frank Lampard after beating Bournemouth 3-1 in a Premier League match on Saturday.

Conor Gallagher, Benoit Badiashile, and Joao Felix scored the crucial goals that saw the Blues win for the first time since March 11.

Meanwhile, Chelsea broke the deadlock in the ninth minute after Gallagher scored. The Blues did great work on the left, especially with Noni Madueke, who laid the ball on the path of N’Golo Kante.

Kante lifted the ball as Gallagher drifted in between Bournemouth defenders and sent a low header into the back of the net.

Bournemouth equalized in the 20th minute after a brilliant team build-up. Four players were involved as the Cherries worked their way past Chelsea, but the final one-two between Matias Vina and Harry Christie finally forced the Blues to concede.

Vina took a first touch and curled a clinical effort past Kepa Arrizabalaga to draw his side level.

Two minutes after the half-hour mark, Bournemouth came close to getting the second after Dango Ouattara sent a good cross into the area. Christie was there to meet it, but he only directed his header wide off the target.

Another good chance to go ahead came in the 39th minute for the home side. Ouattara – after receiving a fine pass from Phillip Billing - did well to beat Ben Chilwell. Ouattara crossed into the 18-yard box, but Kepa was alert to stop him. Kepa’s timely reaction is what saved the Blues from going down.

Bournemouth were as determined as they were in the first half, and their effort could have been rewarded in the 56th minute. Christie did well to pick out Ouattara down the left wing, although the latter’s first touch was brilliant, Badiashile blocked his shot, and the Chelsea man conceded a corner in the process.

There were complications in the 68th minute as Bournemouth appealed for a penalty to be awarded to them. However, it was not as clear whether Thiago Silva got the ball before his follow-through sent Dominic Solanke over or if Solanke also got a touch on the ball.

Finally, VAR showed that the Brazilian got the ball first, and therefore the penalty appeal was dismissed.

A huge chance for the Cherries to grab the lead came in the 79th minute. Lewis Cook sent a superb corner, which was nodded down by Jefferson Lerma, back towards the post, but Ouattara, unmarked, just headed it over.

For wasting their chances, Bournemouth were punished when Badiashile scored in the 82nd minute to restore Chelsea’s lead. After a lovely delivery from Hakim Ziyech, Badiashile made his way past his marker at the back post and nodded into the net.

Chelsea were sure of their first three points under Lampard when Felix scored in the 86th minute. A superb build-up that involved Raheem Sterling, who drove into the area and put the ball in Felix’s path. The Portuguese international fired past Neto as the Blues grabbed their third goal.

Chelsea claimed the three points that assured their place in the Premier League for another season.
