Taiwo Awoniyi has announced he is back to full fitness and ready to return to his best form for Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi has finally returned to full fitness and is eager to secure a starting spot in the team.

The Nigerian striker struggled with injury last season, first, a groin problem that required surgery and a thigh injury, which limited his playing time.

Awoniyi also missed a portion of pre-season due to personal reasons, putting him behind Chris Wood in terms of form and fitness.

"I just need to keep pushing and keep working hard."

Awoniyi expressed his joy at being back on the field, saying,

"It feels great to be back. After a period away due to injury, returning to play is what every footballer hopes for. I'm really happy to be back on the field."

Reflecting on his injury struggles, Awoniyi acknowledged the challenges he faced but emphasised his determination to move forward.

"I am back, I'm healthy and fine. This topic is very hard to go into. But as a player, this is a phase you cannot miss.

When it happens, you feel bad about it. But you just must get going and you just have to stay fit and do the best for yourself."
