Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has stated that Victor Boniface, the striker for the Super Eagles, will start training immediately.

The striker was on the verge of completing his move to Al Nassr, but the deal fell through, with the Saudi Arabian side opting for Jon Duran.

Since joining Die Werkself in the summer of 2023, Boniface has been incredible, helping them win a local double in his first season.

However, this season he has struggled to hit the ground running due to different injury crises.

According to Fotmob, he said, “He will train again tomorrow. I believe he is staying with us. So I have to say that I am satisfied; I am happy.

“He is comfortable here, so I don’t believe that this is a big stress for him. He is comfortable here.”

Although Boniface has missed 12 games so far this season due to a recurrent thigh injury, he has scored eight goals in 15 games across all competitions.

Boniface's comeback helps Xabi Alonso's team as they try to put more pressure on Bayern Munich, who lead the Bundesliga standings by six points at the moment.

Meanwhile, Nathan Tella was thrilled to score his first goal in the UEFA Champions League during their victory against Prague yesterday night.
