Manchester City star Bernardo Silva, elated after the victory over Real Madrid, heaps praise on his team and their mental strength to overcome a difficult rival.
The Portugal international shined, scoring twice as Manchester City beat Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg of their Champions League tie at the Etihad Stadium to book a final in Istanbul against Inter Milan.
The match in brief
The hosts dominated from the offset and were given the lead in the 23rd minute of the game thanks to Bernardo Silva's strike. The midfielder made it two in the 37th minute of the game, heading in from close range.
Manchester City had a third from a set piece in the 76th minute before Julian Alvarez capped off scoring in the 91st minute.
What Bernardo said
Silva was happy to lead his team to victory after a disappointing first-leg performance. He pointed out his team's resilience and how passionate they were.
"It is a beautiful night for us. We knew it would be tough, but to beat this Real Madrid team 4-0 at home was wonderful. Hopefully we will win it.
"We know how tough they are. They pushed us but we were very resiliant, we were passionate but organised at the time.
"My performance in the first game in Madrid was not the one I wanted and I wanted to compensate that. Today I had to do better for my team-mates and the fans and that is what I tried to do.
"I am small but good with my head!"
