Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi has revealed that he is looking forward to beating Ademola Lookman to the CAF Player of the Year award.
Hakimi got nominated for the CAF POTY award and is set to battle it out with Super Eagles star Lookman, who has been in tremendous form this season.
The defender got nominated for the award for the second time after missing out on winning the award to Victor Osimhen last year.
With the ceremony set to take place in Morocco on December 16, the Moroccan star will be looking to clinch his first CAF award.

Hakimi speaks on CAF award
Hakimi has stated that he was honoured to be nominated for the coveted African Footballer of the Year award and that it would be an enormous pleasure to win.
He told Brut via maliactu.net, “It’s a source of pride and satisfaction, especially knowing that the work I’ve been doing for a long time will be rewarded with this nomination."
"It’s true that it’s an important trophy on an individual level, but I’m happy to be here. I hope I can win it, but if not, I'm happy to be here, and it makes me want to keep working"
Several notable African players, including Simon Adingra of Ivory Coast, Ronwen Williams of South Africa, Ademola Lookman of Nigeria, and Serhou Guirassy of Guinea, will compete fiercely with the Morocco fullback for the Player of the Year award.
Lookman, who has been in top form for club and country, is currently the favourite to win the award after helping Atalanta to their first European title in their history.
The Super Eagles star also made history on the night, scoring a hattrick against Bayer Leverkusen and becoming the first player to achieve the feat.
