Musa moved to Dutch club VVV-Venlo in the summer of 2010
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has opened up about the emotional challenges he faced when he first moved to Europe from Kano Pillars.
In an interview with Newstelegraph, Musa revealed that he would often cry every night due to the harsh weather conditions and cultural shock.

It was a day to forget for Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa and his Kano Pillars teammates on their trip to Lagos in the Football League.
However, he struggled to adapt to the cold climate and new surroundings.
"It was a tough moment for me because when I went to VV Venlo, it was too cold," Musa recalled.
"So whenever I finish training, I have to start crying because my legs and hands were freezing. I cried every day at the time because of so much discomfort,” he added.
Musa's emotional struggle was not just about the weather, but also about being away from his family and friends.
He had to make some sacrifices to pursue his football career, and the pressure to succeed was overwhelming.

"It is not easy because when you remember where you are coming from, the kind of situation in Africa, you just have to sacrifice and do a lot of things," Musa said.
"So, I had to adapt, put everything aside and then say this is a starting point for me to make my family proud and then have something to feed the family."

Despite the challenges, Musa persevered and went on to have a successful career in Europe, playing for clubs like CSKA Moscow and Leicester City.
He has also become a key player for the Super Eagles, earning over 100 caps and scoring 18 goals.
