Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has defended his hand gesture during his side's 2-0 defeat to league leaders Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola watched his side suffer yet another brutal defeat, one which more than likey ended their hopes of retaining the Premier League title.

City suffered a 2-0 reverse, their fourth league defeat of the season, and 6th loss in the last 7 games.

Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah ensured Man City left Anfield with nothing.

In the final minutes of the game, Guardiola held up six fingers to represent six Premier League titles as a response to the Anfield crowd's chants of 'sacked in the morning'

After the game, the City boss explained, saying:

“I'm so proud of my six Premier League titles!”.

“I didn't expect Anfield to say I will be sacked in the morning… but it's fine, it is what it is. When you win, you laugh”,

"I didn't expect it from the people from Liverpool, but it's fine!"
