In a post-match interview, Jackson was asked about Chelsea's title ambitions, but the Senegalese star delivered a humorous reply.

Nicolas Jackson provided a lighthearted response when questioned about Chelsea's prospects of winning the Premier League this season.

Following an impressive 2-1 victory over Brentford at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have moved within two points of league leaders Liverpool.

Chelsea 2-1 Brentford

Marc Cucurella's first-half goal and Jackson's strike in the 80th minute gave Chelsea a comfortable two-goal lead.

However, Bryan Mbeumo's late goal for Brentford made for a tense finish. Despite the late scare, Chelsea secured all three points.

The win was somewhat overshadowed by Cucurella's late red card for "aggressive behaviour," according to a Premier League statement.

The victory puts Chelsea in a position where they could potentially top the table before Liverpool's next game against Tottenham.

Chelsea face Everton in an early Sunday kick-off, giving them the chance to leapfrog Liverpool temporarily.

Jackson provides hilarious response on Chelsea being Premier League title contenders

In a post-match interview, Jackson was asked about Chelsea's title ambitions, but the Senegalese star delivered a humorous reply.

When informed that Chelsea was only two points behind Liverpool, Jackson responded to Sky Sports, "Really? I didn't know that they are two points ahead. I'm just trying to win every game and trying to focus on the next one. I don't look at the table."

Adding to the humour, the Senegal international jokingly claimed ignorance of the term "title race," smiling at the camera as he said, "I don't know what a title race [is] to be honest!

He then clarified, "No, I know, but I'm just saying I don't even look at the table. We just focus game by game and try to win as much as possible."

Jackson's response is likely to please Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who is keen to downplay any title talk in his first season managing the club. Maresca prefers a game-by-game approach, focusing on consistent improvement rather than immediate title aspirations.
