Aubameyang, who joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, had a remarkable stint with the Gunners, scoring 92 goals and registering 20 assists in 163 appearances.
However, his relationship with Arteta began to deteriorate midway through the 2021-2022 season.

Arsenal can win the title with two signings - Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has revealed what Mikel Arteta must do in the January transfer window to win the Premier League.
In a recent interview with The Athletic, Aubameyang revealed that the tension between him and Arteta stemmed from a misunderstanding over his arrival time after a trip to France to care for his sick mother.
"My mistake. I should have come back the night before but I arrived in the morning.
"I didn’t tell them that I would miss the flight because I was preoccupied with my mum’s stuff [medical examinations], I went directly to a team meeting.
"Everything was normal. After that, he [Arteta] said, 'Come with me.' This is where he started shouting."
Aubameyang claimed that Arteta's reaction was unwarranted and hurtful, especially given the circumstances.
"He said I gave him a knife in his back; I don’t know why he said that. I was really p**sed off because it was not true and he knew why I flew.
"He knew the reason and what was happening, he knew I was struggling that year. I was expecting help from him, not killing me like this."
Aubameyang reportedly traveled to be with his sick mother in an emergency, but that incident set in motion his exit from the club.
Arteta stripped him of his captaincy and froze him out of the side before both parties finally settled on a mutual termination.
