Bosso reminisced about past instances where U20 players seamlessly transitioned to the Super Eagles, citing examples such as Efe Ambrose, Elderson Echiejile, Chukwuma Akabueze, and Brown Ideye, who graduated after their stellar performances at the 2007 Fifa U20 World Cup.
Bosso Voices Frustration
Speaking to the press after the Friday night match at the Accra Sports Stadium, as reported by MikeThePundit on X, Bosso conveyed his disappointment.
He reiterated his stance, suggesting that standout performers from the 2023 Fifa U20 World Cup, including Daniel Daga, Daniel Bameyi, Benjamin Fredrick, and Haliru Sarki, should have been included in the Super Eagles squad for the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.
Bosso emphasized his role as a developer of talent, stating, "I've always said it the Ladan Bosso you're seeing today and always I'm a developer. I've always developed players for the Super Eagles, that is for the main team."
Expressing his dismay at the missed opportunities for the young talents, Bosso continued, "Now why I said I was shocked when the last AFCON list was released, we have the likes of Sarki, Daga that played here, Fredrick, Bameyi and co. I was expecting them to be called to the Super Eagles."
He explained his decision to integrate these players into the current U20 setup, emphasizing their age eligibility and potential for development.
