“This is an important factor for the team to advance in such a difficult competition and also to win in the knockout phase.”

Brazil's coach's comment did not go unnoticed as six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala gave her response about meeting Brazil.

Oshoala told fifa.com, “I have a lot of confidence in this team. We have many young players, and we can make things difficult for our opponents.

“We don’t just think about getting out of the group; I think we can actually walk away with a medal.”

Oshoala,] believes that the team can win the gold medal by making history for Nigeria in Paris 2024 and emulate the 1996 Olympic men's team.

The Super Falcons had only won one of their previous nine games, with eight losses, making Nigeria's Olympic record a bad one.

However, the Super Falcons are focused on winning and moving on from a challenging group that also includes world champions Spain and Japan.
