Super Eagles interim boss Austin Eguavoen has revealed Victor Oismhen’s role in Nigeria’s clash against Benin Republic.
Osimhen joined the Super Eagles camp on Thursday after finalising his move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
The forward has not featured in any game for both club and country after being left out of Napoli’s squad list.
However, he is expected to play his first game in over three months when Nigeria welcome Benin Republic.

Nigeria vs Benin: The tactics Eguavoen MUST deploy for Super Eagles in AFCON 2025 qualifiers
All you need to know about what Augustine Eguavoen could do as Super Eagles interim boss in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
Eguavoen speaks on Osimhen
Eguavoen has discussed Victor Osimhen's fitness and who will start in goal between Stanley Nwabali and Maduka Okoye ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
At the news conference held before the game, Eguavoen stated, "To answer that, you know we have a pool of 23 players. So it is something I have to sleep over and then decide who starts tomorrow.
"The headache in the entire team. 23 quality players, some quality players that are also not in the team right now.
"So, it is headache for the coach but the good thing is that they are all fit and we can always play with 11, the required number of players and the good thing is that the players also know that."
Nwabali has been the top choice since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, but it's unclear if Eguavoen would stick with him in goal instead of Okoye, who has been playing exceptionally well for Udinese.
Meanwhile, Eguavoen has set an objective for the team ahead of the AFCON qualifier matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
