Former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has said he hopes to visit Stamford Bridge one last time.

In 2022, Abramovich faced restrictions imposed by the British Government and the European Union due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Since the restriction, the Russian has not been able to attend any Chelsea game at the Bridge.

The billionaire approved the £2.35 billion ($2.87bn) sale of Chelsea to Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital as a result of the action.

According to the Sun, Abramovich is looking to say goodbye to the staff he left at Stamford Bridge after selling the club.

He said, “I hope that I will be able to visit Stamford Bridge one last time to say goodbye to all of you in person.”

Abramovich is no longer involved in football and has stopped attending matches globally after ending his association with the West London club.

A close friend of Abramovich told The Sun: "Roman still likes football. But he doesn't go to games any more. It was always about Chelsea."

Chelsea, under the leadership of Enzo Maresca, will return to Premier League action after the international break with a home game against Tottenham Hotspur on April 3.
