Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has expressed his frustration with the media after failing to get the win in his opening game.

Ruben Amorim's debut as Manchester United manager was a mixed bag, as the Red Devils were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Marcus Rashford's early goal had given Amorim's side a dream start, but they struggled to build on that momentum.

Amorim acknowledged that his team's performance was affected by the intense media scrutiny surrounding his debut.

"This week I spoke more to the media than I did in four years at Sporting. I just want to work with my players. Nothing more," he said to BBC Sport.

The Portuguese coach also noted that his players were still adjusting to his tactics and style of play.

"My players were thinking too much in the game. We had just two days together, we need more," he explained.

"They (Ipswich) left us one against one many times and we have to use those moments. It was a tough match and we lost some balls without pressure."

"When you start like we did, you have to control the ball. We cannot do it at the moment but the players really, really tried."

Up next for United is a home game against Bodo in the UEFA Europa League.
