Germany national team striker Niclas Fullkrug made a shocking revelation recently, as he expressed his affection for Nigerian contemporary pop music: Afrobeats.
The 31-year-old recently made a move to the Premier League this summer from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. As part of his pre-season shoot, he was asked some personal questions, of which one was to name his preferred music artist.

Clad in Hammers regalia, the Germany international was questioned by what seemed to be members of West Ham's social media team. He was asked who his favourite musician is, and he revealed that Afrobeats superstar Burnaboy currently tops the list.
“Favourite music artiste? At the moment: Burnaboy.” In a separate scene, he was asked to sing his favourite line from a song and his pick as an excerpt from Burnaboy’s smash breakup-themed single Last Last. “Shayoooo,” Fullkrug sang.
He went on to declare his love for the genre in general, saying, “I like Afrobeats a lot. I love Burnaboy and stuff like that.”
Fullkrug joined West Ham this recently concluded transfer window after spending only one season at Borussia Dortmund. He impressed at the European Championships this summer, which placed him on the radar of the Premier League side
He is yet to hit the ground running with the London-based side, as he failed to start any of their three Premier League games this season. Back with Germany this international break, however, he scored in the 5-0 demolition of Hungary in their UEFA Nation's League group stage clash.
