Butland's heroics in the penalty shootout secured a spot for Rangers in the quarterfinals, where they will face Athletic Bilbao.

What Baogun said

Balogun, who played an important role in the two-legged tie, replacing an injured Robin Propper in Turkey and putting in a great shift at Ibrox, acknowledged that the team made it harder for themselves than necessary.

"I was praying for Jack, praying that God share some of his glory with him. He has done it. I'm just happy for Jack. He really deserves it. He's a big character in the dressing room," Balogun said via Daily Record.

"We suffered out there. You all saw it, but we dug in, stuck together and ground it out. It's a great moment for Jack.

"He was outstanding last season. We have all been up and down this season, and for him to come up with that display was massive," he said.

Balogun emphasised the importance of taking it one step at a time, saying, "We have to take it as it is. We did the groundwork last week, and we knew it was going to be tough today."

Rangers will now face Athletic Bilbao in the quarterfinals, with the first leg scheduled for April 10 at Ibrox and the second leg on April 17 at Estadio San Mames in Spain.
