Thiago Silva apologises for his defensive error in Chelsea's disappointing 4-1 defeat away at Newcastle
Chelsea were on the receiving end of a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Newcastle in a Premier League clash and Thiago Silva was complicit with a major defensive error.
The Brazilian centre-back was responsible for Newcastle's third goal when he gave the ball away to his compatriot Joelinton to score a easy goal from close range in the 61st minute.
The 39-year-old has taken full responsibility for the error and the result while also tendering an apology to Chelsea fans for the disappointing performance.

Thiago Silva apologises to Chelsea fans
Thiago Silva posted the apology on his social media pages “I’m devastated. It wasn’t a good day for us," acknowledging the horrible result at St James' Park.
"I would like to apologise to everyone for the defeat, especially to my teammates who believe in me and support me every day," Thiago's message continued.
He also took the blame and used the message to encourage his teammates, “I take full responsibility. Let’s gather strength and come back stronger.”
