Ndidi's challenge on Palmer: Chelsea boss Maresca weighs in on controversy
Was the Nigerian fortunate to avoid a straight red card against the Blues?
Maresca wants Fernandez to play like Ndidi
"I'm trying to convince Enzo in the same way as I did last year with Ndidi and Kiernan that attacking midfielders need to arrive in the box.
"The reason why he scored today was because he was inside the box and if he was outside of the box, he wouldn't have scored the goal."
Ndidi contributed 7goals and 7 assists last season, after being transformed into a box-to-box midfielder, and has continued in the same vein this season, producing 4 assists in the league.
Maresca's hope is that Fernandez becomes an extra source of goals to reduce over-reliance on the likes of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.
