Reflecting on the intense showdown, Osimhen didn’t shy away from acknowledging the stakes.

The win was especially meaningful after a disappointing result the previous week against Besiktas, which had left the Galatasaray faithful disheartened.

“We were optimistic when we came. Last week, unfortunately, we made our fans unhappy. We had to play well here to make up for them,” he admitted, underscoring the team’s resolve to turn things around.

Osimhen featured in the Cup for the first time for Gala.

Osimhen’s love affair with Galatasaray has only deepened since his arrival, and he’s not afraid to show it.

“As I said in my previous interviews, I liked this club since I came here. I loved the people here; I loved the fans,” he confessed.

Osimhen has now scored 31 goals across competitions for club and country.

That affection drives him to give his all on the pitch. “I want to respond to their love by working hard,” he added, a promise that resonates with supporters who have embraced him as one of their own.

The striker’s gratitude extends beyond the stands to the teammates who’ve stood by him.

Osimhen is at home in Turkey with Galatasaray and their fans.

“My teammates are also very important to me. They are always supportive of me,” he said, quick to share the credit for his derby heroics.

“Of course, it was important to score in the derby. I wouldn't have scored those goals if my teammates hadn't done a lot of important things. I am grateful to them for this.”

Osimhen was caged for 90 minutes by Ole.

His two goals, scored in the 10th and 27th minutes, proved decisive, but he sees them as a collective triumph.

Looking ahead, Osimhen’s focus is clear. “Now we will look at the upcoming matches and go game by game,” he noted, emphasising a step-by-step approach as Galatasaray chase glory in the Turkish Cup and beyond.

But his ambitions go deeper than tactics or trophies. “I want to continue my performance. I want to do everything I can for the team,” he declared, a pledge that signals his intent to keep delivering for the Lions.

With 31 goals already to his name this season for club and country, Osimhen’s form is undeniable. Yet, for the Nigerian sensation, it’s not just about numbers; it’s about giving back to a club and a fanbase that have captured his heart.
