Super Eagle star Alex iwobi admitted both his goals in the disappointing defeat against West Ham were flukes.
Alex Iwobi added two more goals to his season tally last night, bringing his total in the Premier League to seven goals; he has three assists to boot.
However, Iwobi's brace was not enough to help his team clinch victory, as their opponents on the night, West Ham, capitalised on schoolboy defensive errors and went away with a 3-2 victory.

‘It's a mistake’ - Liverpool legend reacts to Iwobi’s brace following West Ham’s loss
Liverpool legend Michael Owen has reacted to Alex Iwobi’s two goals for Fulham against West Ham.
A sad night for Iwobi despite brace
A frustrated Iwobi expressed his disappointment, as he believes they did enough in terms of change creation to have left the London Stadium with maximum points.
“We’re all disappointed, especially with the way we lost the game; it was just mistakes, but everyone makes mistakes at the end of the day,” Iwobi told Fulham TV.
“If we had nullified that, we could’ve won the game today, but there’s a game around the corner. We can’t dwell on it, we have to analyze it, dust ourselves up and go again.
“We created so many chances and hit the woodwork twice and we felt like we could have gotten a few more goals, but if you don’t defend as a team, if you make these mistakes, then in the Premier League, everyone can punish us. We just have to work on that, to try and cut out the mistakes and I’m sure we’ll be able to beat teams like West Ham.”
Iwobi admits to fluke
While he has scored more goals than recorded assists this season, Iwobi is more playmaker than goalscorer; in fact, he was one of the best creators in Europe in 2024.
In both goals he scored last night, the Nigerian was looking to create scoring chances for his teammates, but the ball travelled further and into the net. Iwobi scored two fluke goals, and he was honest enough to admit it after the game.
“It doesn’t matter who scored. The main thing is to try and get the three points. I’ll just take the two goals if they’re mine. Of course, I won’t say I took a shot. I was aiming for both of them (Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson).”
“I was just trying to make sure I was creating chances for my teammates; I wasn’t trying to score. Whether I’m scoring or I’m creating, as long as we get the goals, I’m easy.”
