Manchester United legend Roy Keane revealed that he apologised to Harry Maguire for his harsh criticisms.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has apologised to defender Harry Maguire for kicking him while he was down, stating that he went too far and was wrong.
Maguire, 28, was the captain of the Red Devils before he was stripped of the position after a torrid period of poor form. The England international was a lightning rod for costly errors and seemingly could not put a foot right in this period, which made him a target of vitriol and harsh criticism from fans and pundits alike.

What Roy Keane said
Keane was one such critic of Maguire. The former Leicester City man has since turned his form around and was important for Erik ten Hag’s side last season.
Speaking on the Stick to Football, Keane explained that he had apologised to Maguire and admitted to being wrong.
"I was harsh on Harry Maguire. You hope to keep it to footballing reasons and obviously, we cover a lot of Manchester United matches and he was struggling at the time.
"But you also think about the mental health of players and I definitely crossed the line with Maguire.
"I remember one time I kind of mocked him a little bit and that is definitely out of order. I crossed the line and listen, I played the game, I know it’s not easy.
"But I’m also big enough that I apologised to him. Sometimes we pundits get it wrong too."
Meanwhile, Maguire is currently on holiday and is not partaking in the Euros with the Three Lions, as he sustained an injury towards the end of the season.
