Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes his team can still win the Premier League even without their star midfielder Rodri.

Rodri was injured in Manchester City's 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Spain international underwent medical tests on Monday, with multiple reports indicating an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his right knee.

Rodri has traveled to Barcelona for further assessment, and while a full prognosis is pending, City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that surgery is required.

Guardiola remains cautious about the severity of the injury but acknowledged that Rodri's recovery will be extensive.

"He'll be out for a long time, a while, but there are some medical opinions that maybe it will be less than we expect.

"Rodri is irreplaceable and the team won't play with the best midfielder in the world for a long, long time. Of course, it's a big, big blow for us.

"But it's football, it's happened, and I must find a solution.

"We don't want this, but we will still have a good season. I trust a lot in my players, I have a duty to find a solution," Guardiola added.
